This award winning play will be performed by its author and our branch comrade Julia Mackey.
It is a powerful comedy-drama about a cantankerous WWII veteran, Jake who reluctantly returns to Juno Beach for the 60th Anniversary of D-Day. While there, he meets Isabelle, a precocious 10 year old from the local village, whose inquisitive nature and charm challenge the old veteran to confront some long ignored ghosts. It is a one woman show, though you'll feel like it is an ensemble cast...four characters all played by Julia! JAKE’S GIFT is a Canadian play about the importance of Remembrance & so much more.... |
